USPSA – United States Practical Shooting Association

USPSA is a fast-paced action shooting sport combining accuracy, power, and speed. RRGC is the West Coast’s largest USPSA club, hosting bi-monthly matches and practice sessions.

  • Matches: Held on the 1st and 3rd weekends of each month. Sunday hosts two match sessions — AM and PM. Register Here for USPSA Matches
  • Practice: Non-match Saturdays, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
  • Fees: Saturday — $27 for members, $36 for non-members. Sunday AM — Member $51, Non-Member $60. Sunday PM — Member $27, Non-Member $36. Juniors (under 18) shoot for free.

Prerequisite:

All shooters must have a USPSA classification, complete the RRGC Intro to Competition Class, or equivalent. New competitors must send a verification email to [email protected] before their first match.

Note: IF YOU HAVE NEVER SHOT A MATCH AT RICHMOND ROD & GUN CLUB, YOU  MUST MEET THE PREREQUISITES ABOVE AND SEND A VERIFICATION EMAIL TO [email protected] PRIOR TO THE MATCH OR YOU WILL BE SUBJECT TO BEING WITHDRAWN AND/OR BEING BANNED FROM FUTURE MATCHES.

USPSA Practice

Practices consist of one static line bay and one practice stage bay.  Practice sessions are typically on non-USPSA-match-day Saturdays (those Saturdays where there is NOT a USPSA match) from 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM, depending on schedule.  Be sure to check the Range Schedule (the button at the top) before coming out for practice, to check availability! There are some weekends where the range is closed for major events.

Match Day Information

Sunday AM Squads

  • Check-in: 7:00 AM – 7:30 AM at the office
  • Shooter Meeting: 8:00 AM sharp
  • Pre-registration required — closes Friday at 6:00 PM, no walk-ons
  • If not checked in by 7:30 AM, you will not shoot
  • All squads must brass and change targets before leaving

Sunday PM Squads

  • Check-in: by 12:30 PM at the office
  • Shooter Meeting: 1:00 PM
  • Pre-registration required — closes Friday at 6:00 PM, no walk-ons
  • If not checked in by 12:30 PM, you will not shoot
  • All squads must brass and tear down before leaving

Waitlist & Squadding

  • Waitlisted shooters may be added through Friday at 7:00 PM if squads are full
  • You may request to squad with friends — no guarantees
  • Note preferences in the registration form or email [email protected]

Match Fees

  • Sunday AM: Member $51 / Non-Member $60
  • Sunday PM: Member $27 / Non-Member $36
  • Withdrawal fee: $4
  • Juniors (under 18): FREE

If you do not withdraw by the Friday before the match and no-show, your full match fee will be forfeited.

How to Register For a Sunday AM squad: select the Sunday AM price increase at checkout, then select the waitlist option for your preferred squad and join the Sunday waitlist. We’ll squad you after verifying the correct payment.

For a Sunday PM squad: do NOT select the Sunday AM price increase checkbox.
