PCSL / Multigun

PCSL / Multigun

Our PCSL and Multigun matches are dynamic, practical shooting competitions using a combination of handguns, rifles, and shotguns. Stages test speed, accuracy, and problem-solving with target engagements ranging from close quarters to 200 yards. Register here for PCSL / Multigun matches.

PCSL

PCSL (Practical Competition Shooting League) is a modern, open-source ruleset focused on simplified, fair, and exciting practical shooting.

Matches typically use points-per-second (Hit Factor) scoring, and include divisions that accommodate a wide range of equipment.

Unique features include the T-zone target, which rewards precision under pressure.

Official Rules & Divisions: You can read the latest PCSL General Rulebook, and get details on divisions and scoring, on the PCSL website: PCSLeague.us

Multigun

UML style matches run under United Multigun League rules: time-plus scoring, event types spanning multiple stages, up to 200 yards for longer ranges.

Divisions include Open, Limited, Optic, Heavy, 2-Gun, PCC Only, and 2×4.

Saturday practice sessions are available for approved participants. Guns must be bagged/un-bagged in designated areas.

New shooters must complete the Intro to Competition Class or equivalent training and submit verification to [email protected]

Multigun Match Prerequisites

To compete in any Richmond Multigun or Rifle/Shotgun Match (PCSL, BARC, CASC, Multigun, Red Labor, PCC Match) a competitor must meet at least one of the following requirements. There are no exceptions.

  1. Read and be familiar with PCSL Rules / UML Rules
  2. Demonstrated PCSL or Multigun competition experience. This means you must show that you have previously competed in a “championship level” USPSA, IMG, PCSL or UML rules based multigun match, AND completed the match without being disqualified. (Final match results with your printed name, or a letter from a match official must be presented).
  3. USPSA, PCSL, IDPA or SASS match experience AND a checkoff from a RRGC Saturday multigun practice session.
  4. Completion of the Richmond Intro to Competition Class, AND a checkoff from the Chief Range Officer at a Saturday multigun practice session.

Multi-Gun Practice Requirements

To participate in the Multigun Saturday Practice you must meet at least one of the following requirements. There are no exceptions.

  1. USPSA, PCSL, IDPA or SASS match experience.
  2. Completion of the RRGC Intro to Competition Class.

If you think you qualify but haven’t attended practice before, please contact RRGC Multigun Director, Greg Fiddes, to get checked off prior to attending.

Practice Procedure:

Upon arrival at RRGC, you should go to Action Range office (right in front of Bay 3 of the Action Range – a map of the range is in the FAQs section) and pay the range use fee.  Upon payment and signing of the waiver, you will receive a wrist band that will allow you to participate in practice. You can then join us on Bay 4 for Multigun Practice. All guns must be bagged/un-bagged in the safety area, or at the pre-load table/rack area on the stage (not at your vehicle).

NEW MULTIGUN SHOOTERS

To practice any action shooting discipline on the action range, it’s required that shooters take the Intro to Competition Class, the now discontinued Safe Multigun Competitor Class, or already have match experience at a sanctioned USPSA, PCSL, IDPA, or Multigun match. If you think you qualify but haven’t attended practice before, please contact RRGC Multigun Director, Greg Fiddes, to get checked off prior to attending.

Qualified new shooters should show up at 9:30am sharp to get briefed by the practice Chief Range Officer. They will lead you through the safety rules for the range and expectations during practice. ROs will coach and closely follow new competitors through the stage. Shooters must complete the practice without disqualification to get approved to attend Multigun Matches. If you’re new to action competition, it’s highly recommended to get familiar with the rules and run several of the pistol matches before jumping into Multigun.

Note: No ammo containing steel core projectiles is allowed at RRGC.
