Welcome to Richmond Action! Below are answers to common questions about our matches, membership, and range procedures.
USPSA Match FAQ
Withdrawals & Refunds
- Deadline: Withdrawal requests must be submitted via Practiscore by Thursday at 9:00 PM prior to the match.
- Refund Policy:
- Requests made before the deadline will receive a refund minus processing fees.
- Refunds are processed on Monday after the match concludes.
- If you are on the waitlist and do not get a spot in the match, you will receive a full refund.
Registration & Payment
- Once your registration is approved (except for RO registration):
- Make payment via the registration page on Practiscore.
- Squad yourself into an available squad.
- If all squads are full, please place yourself on the waitlist.
Match Registration Timeline

Squadding
- Squads are first-come, first-served, with ROs receiving priority.

General FAQs
Getting Started at Richmond Rod & Gun Club
Check prerequisites on the specific activity webpage for the discipline you’re interested in.
In general:
- You must complete the Intro to Competition Class or
- Provide documented USPSA experience.

Becoming an RRGC Member

- To apply for membership: Join RRGC
Shooting Your First USPSA Match
- Register on Practiscore.com.
- RRGC Members: Request RRGC membership status on Practiscore to get a match discount and early registration access
- Arrive Early:
- Check-in at the Action Range Office (in front of Bay 3).
- You will be told your squad assignment at check-in.
- Firearm & Ammo Rules:
- Load magazines anywhere outside safety areas.
- Handle firearms ONLY in safety areas (no ammo handling allowed in these areas).
- Shooter’s Meeting: Begins 15 minutes before match start and includes announcements and match information.
- Starting Bay: After the meeting, go to your assigned starting bay with your squad and be ready to shoot.
Accepted Introductory Classes from Other Ranges
Richmond Action will accept completion and passing of introductory USPSA-specific competition courses from these USPSA clubs and instructors:
- Sacramento Valley Shooting Center (Sacramento, CA)
- El Dorado Defensive Pistol (El Dorado, CA)
- Solano Targetmasters (Davis, CA)
- Linden Competitive Shooting Club (Linden, CA)
- Diablo Action Pistol (Concord, CA)
- Livemore-Pleasanton Rod & Gun Club (Livermore, CA)
- Manzano (San Jose, CA)
- Performance Shooting Concepts
Note:
- NRA, CCW, LEO, Military, or other types of training do NOT substitute for this class.
- IDPA-specific courses and courses not USPSA-specific do NOT qualify.
- Visit their websites for contact details and scheduling.
Receiving Member Discounts & Match Announcements
To receive member pricing and early registration notifications:
- Log in to Practiscore.com
- Go to the RRGC club page: RRGC on Practiscore
- In the dashboard:
- Click Membership
- Click the Member Request button
- Email your RRGC and USPSA member numbers to: [email protected]
Example email format:
Subject: RRGC Practiscore Membership Request Hello, my name is [Your Name]. I am a current RRGC member and just requested the membership discount through Practiscore. RRGC Membership Number: [Your RRGC Member #] USPSA Membership Number: [Your USPSA # or "I am not a USPSA member."] Thank you, [Your Name]
Important:
- Failure to send all required information will result in your request being ignored.
- This discount applies to USPSA matches only.
- Other activities require contacting the appropriate activity lead.
Saturday Practice
- Completion of the Intro Class is required before participating in Saturday Practice.
- Saturday Practice hours are 9:00 am – 1:30 pm
- Please check the Range Schedule to confirm when Saturday Practices are held.
- All participants must check in at the Stat Shack to register and pay.
Spectating a Match
- Spectators must be accompanied by a registered match participant.
- The participant is responsible for ensuring the spectator:
- Follows all safety rules
- Complies with match protocols

Brass Policy
- All members and participants may personally collect up to a 1-quart-sized Ziplock bag of brass, solely inclusive of their own fired brass, following an RO shift, match, or practice.
- All other brass is considered RRGC property.
- All range brass will be deposited into a lockable container at each of the Action Bays.
